Common Place, Uncommon Encounters

Six members of the Port City Playwrights Project have contributed to Common Place, Uncommon Encounters, the group’s first fully staged production. Taking place in a rest area off an expressway during the course of one day, the play offers a usually humorous look at the travelers who take advantage of the facilities and the grumpy custodian who frequently must clean up after them.  The show runs January 12-22, 2017 at the Cape Fear Playhouse, 613 Castle Street. Curtain times are Thursday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00. A special pay-what-you-can preview is slated for Wednesday, January 11, at 8:00.  General admission is $18, and $16 seniors and students. For those looking for a deal, all Thursday tickets are $12!  The playwrights include Susan M. Steadman (who is also directing), Brad Field, Don Wood. Alex Neal, Charlotte Hackman and Jeremy Steadman.  For additional information such as group rates, please write to portcityplaywrightsproject@gmail.com.
